You know what I'm glad is still around in society? Those little ribbons attached to the bottom of the battery chamber of an appliance, because that bottom-most battery is going to be a bitch to get out with your fingernails, so you just give the ribbon a yank and presto!
What I love most about it is that it's still a ribbon. Like, for craft-time. Not only is there no lever or button to replace the pull mechanism, but there's no cord or wire to replace the thin strip of fabric.
